Charity stream to support life saving research
Josef Fares' game development company, Hazelight Studios, has launched their new game: Split Fiction and with the launch, they donated USD 5 000 to the Swedish Cancer Society.
As part of the Split Fiction launch, the Swedish Cancer Society and Hazelight Studios hosted a fundraising event where MissMikkaa and Elajjaz played the game on their Twitch channels.
Viewers were encouraged to contribute to the Swedish Cancer Society through various fundraising activities during the livestream.
Hazelight Studios also organised giveaways during the launch, and EA (Electronic Arts) provided game codes for those who donated to the fundraiser to encourage further contributions as well as donating money.
– The collaboration with Hazelight Studios and EA demonstrates that the gaming industry can make a difference and contribute to a future where more people survive cancer, says Jeanette Sundin, Deputy Secretary-General and Head of Fundraising and Communications at the Swedish Cancer Society.
– We want Split Fiction to be more than just a game – it is also an opportunity to contribute to something meaningful. Almost everyone has someone close to them affected by cancer, and we are happy to use our community to support the Swedish Cancer Society’s vital work, says Josef Fares, Founder of Hazelight Studios.
