GeoGuessr
We are incredibly proud to be partnering with the Swedish Cancer Society, an organisation that makes a significant difference in the fight against cancer.
For many of us at GeoGuessr, the battle against cancer is personal. We have all been affected, either directly or indirectly, by this disease.
That is why it is so important to us, through our partnership, to raise awareness of the significance of cancer research and contribute to the Swedish Cancer Society’s life-saving work, says GeoGuessr’s CEO, Daniel Antell.
GeoGuessr plans to engage in several different ways. Among other initiatives, they have developed an avatar available for purchase within the game, with proceeds going towards cancer research.
On 9th November, the first official GeoGuessr x Swedish Cancer Society online tournament took place.
Over 20 professional GeoGuessr players, some of the best in the world, competed against each other in support of the Swedish Cancer Society.
The players possess an incredible ability to identify locations with just a single image, often with an accuracy of only a few hundred metres.

GeoGuessr is a geography-based game where the player is placed somewhere in the world (via Google Street View) and must guess where they are.
Our goal is to open up the world to anyone, anywhere, at any time, and make it fun to discover, says Antell.
